Beyond Tweetablogaphobia: The Conversation is Happening—Are You Part of It?
Last year’s summer workshop on overcoming fear of new social media was a sell-out. This year, you’re invited to explore how social media can
- enhance your business,
- free-lance work,
- professional development and job performance.
The “Tweetablogaphobia.2” workshop requires a basic knowledge of social media. Reserve your seat now for “Tweetablogaphobia.2”:
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 11 at the Webster University Library, room 110.
Richard Gavatin, Press Club board member, will reprise his role as a guide to improving your blog and website. Joining him is Jennifer Rolwes Volk, principal in strategic communications for Rangency, who will show you how to turn Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other sites into precision work tools.
The workshop will include presentations, Q & A, “lab-work” with teacher help, private consulting and an informal networking lunch. Richard and Jennifer will assume you are at the intermediate level, and participants will receive an email survey prior to the workshop to determine specific skills and interests. Topics to be covered include:
- Using the Web as a tool for job-searching
- Getting your name in the free lance market
- Targeting potential clients
- Establishing and improving your brand
You’ll learn a lot in a very short time at a very small cost. Fee for the workshop is $23 for members and $25 for non-members, and includes a box lunch. Seating is limited, so RSVP on or before August 23. The classroom contains 24 computers, but you are encouraged to bring your own laptop or flash drive so you can work on your existing files. To reserve your place, click here, call the Press Club at 636 230-1973 or email info@stlpressclub.org. The Webster Library is located at Eager Rd. and Garden Ave. in Webster Groves just across from the Repertory Theatre. There is a nearby parking garage on Garden.
Note. However you RSVP, be sure to include your email address so that we can send you the pre-workshop survey.
