Join us in honoring the nine communications and journalism students who have received this year's Press Club and Journalism Foundation Scholarships.  We'll recognize the winners and their family members, then hear Jo Mannies speak on "Facts and Factions: Political Reporting in a Fractious Election Season."   Mannies, political reporter for the St. Louis Beacon, has been covering politics and government at the state and local levels for years.  Her insights and anecdotes will clarify the current election cycle and encourage the next generation of political reporters.  Bring your questions for a lively discussion.

Jo Mannies has written for the St. Louis Beacon since February 2009. Previously, she spent 32 years with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, much of it as the chief locally based political writer. She won several national, regional and local awards. She was the Post-Dispatch's first woman to cover St. Louis City Hall, from 1978-81, and worked in the newspaper's Washington Bureau from 1981-85.  She is a native of Indiana, and a graduate of Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind.

The buffet lunch is $16 for members and $18 for guests.  Parking is free adjacent to the clubhouse.
