Peggy Barnhart, a strategic communications professional, and a current commissioner on St. Louis County Board of Election, she is responsible for election oversight, including County ballot issues, voter registration and education, and election reporting, budget and efficiency.

Previously, Barnhart was director of communications and government relations for the American Red Cross. She also served in communications and community relations for two U.S. Senators: Christopher S. Bond and James M. Talent, and in the office of County Council Representative Edith Cunnane. Bob Cohn is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus for the St. Louis Jewish Light where he began working in 1969. He retired as Editor-in-Chief/Publisher in 2004, but still contributes editorials, major articles, theatrical and book reviews and hard news. Bob graduated from Washington University with degrees in English, philosophy, political science and the Washington University Law School with a Doctor of Law degree. He worked as Administrative Assistant, Staff Attorney, Press Secretary and Speech writer for the late Lawrence R. Ross, then St. Louis County Supervisor (Executive). Bob has won numerous local and national awards for his journalism and community service, including the "Rockower Award for Excellence in North American Jewish Journalism", two lifetime achievement awards from the American Jewish Press Association of which he is a past president, among others. Bob is currently Chairman of the St. Louis County Human Rights Commission and Board Chairman and Immediate Past President of the Press Club. He also teaches at the Jewish Community High School, CAJE Adult Studies, a film class for OASIS and the Jewish Community Center, and a course at Washington University on Middle East reporting and commentary. Bob and his wife Barbara reside in Clayton, and are the parents of three children, and have five grandchildren.

Becky Domyan is a Business Marketing graduate from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Becky started her management career working for Enterprise Holdings upon graduation in 2001. Becky moved up the ranks quickly at Enterprise as a Management Trainee, Branch Manager, and Recruiting Supervisor. Flory became vice chancellor April 1, 2021 after serving as Washington University interim vice chancellor for public affairs, providing strategic communications leadership and overseeing creative services, digital strategy, marketing and brand strategy, media relations, social media, strategic initiatives, university news and the publication of Washington magazine. Flory also is a member of the chancellor's executive cabinet.

Since coming to Washington University in 2014, she has led or played a key role in communications for the school's participation in the U.S. Presidential Debate in 2016 and the inauguration of university Chancellor Andrew D. Martin in 2019. She has led communications regarding various critical issues, including the university's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the school's commitment to racial equity.

Flory has more than two decades of experience in higher education public relations and communications. Prior to joining Washington University, she spent 13 years at the University of Notre Dame as assistant director, then associate director for news and information, and then director of public relations. She previously had worked for seven years as a television news reporter and anchor in Colorado, Idaho and Indiana.

Flory earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from San José State University and her master’s degree in American culture studies from Washington University. She also is a graduate of the Strategic Leaders Executive Education Program at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

After a distinguished 25-year career at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, award-winning journalist and former daily features editor Ellen Futterman joined Twist as a vice president in October 2007. She manages several of the marketing firm’s cultural and business accounts along with generating and developing new business.

Ellen joined the Post-Dispatch in 1982 as a general assignment reporter. Her previous journalism experience includes stints at the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner and the Belleville News-Democrat.

During her tenure at the Post, Ellen worked as a news reporter, feature writer, columnist, movie critic and critic-at-large. She won major local and national awards for her reporting on “Women Who Kill,” about battered women, and for a four-part series about teenage pregnancy, “Children Having Children.”

In 1995, Ellen started the paper’s weekly entertainment magazine, Get Out, now called GO, and served as its editor. In 2001, she was named Everyday Editor and supervised the paper’s daily feature sections before taking a paper-wide buyout in September 2007.

Ellen teaches journalism and film at Webster and Washington universities and serves on the Board of Directors of Student Media Inc. at Washington University. She is married to Jeff Burkett and has three children.

Richard Gavatin was the webmaster of the Press Club web site through 2007. He designs and maintains web sites and has been an editor, writer and publisher during his entire adult life. In his youth, during his Pharmacy education he was the driving force of his Student Magazine back when “Copy and paste” literally meant “copy and paste” . He has been the editor of numerous print and on-line newsletters during the 80’s and 90’s and when the new media of web publishing started he was there from the very beginning. He has authored books, articles, blogs and many other written publications, including a translation from English to his native Swedish.

He is now an independent consultant, a database professional, and Technical Trainer.  His involvement with the Press Club started in 2006 and has included, in addition to the web site (comprising of the creation of a system to accept credit card payments), co-chairing the By-Law committee and conducted several workshops on Web Site design and Social Media.

Kent Martin has been a journalist and communicator as far back as grade school, when he edited his sixth grade newspaper. 

Martin graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and then worked on the staff of the school while studying for a master's degree. He left after five years to head for St. Louis for a job as a reporter with KMOX Radio. His work garnered numerous national honors, including the George Foster Peabody award, a regional Emmy, the Champion-Tuck Award for financial reporting, the National Association of Science Writers and the National Association of Black Journalists award for best newspaper feature. 

He is currently employed in the field of public relations. Martin has worked for numerous non-profits throughout his career, including the March of Dimes and the Family Resource Center in St. Louis. He also served pro bono as volunteer communications director for the National D-Day Memorial Foundation in Bedford, VA.

Martineau, a lawyer for Lewis Rice, LLC, specializes in media and communications law, intellectual property law, health law litigation, and complex commercial litigation. Martineau’s clients include local and national major media, and he has argued cases in state and federal courts in Missouri and Illinois, including the Supreme Courts of each state.

Alvin Reid is city editor of the St. Louis American, the state's largest African-American newspaper. The American has been voted the best African American Newspaper in the nation five of the last 10 years, and won the national competition in June 2005.

Along with his news responsibilities, Reid writes a weekly Major League Baseball - St. Louis Cardinals column, and was honored by the Missouri Press Association as Best Sports Columnist in 2004 and 1999. He is co-author of the book, "Whitey's Boys: A Celebration of the 1982 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals."

Reid is former co-host of the interview/discussion show "In The Loop" that won a regional Emmy Award in October 2002. He is also a frequent guest commentator on KETC-PBS' most-popular local television show, Donnybrook and is a contributor to the show, "Living St. Louis." He has also appeared on ESPN "Outside the Lines" and on "The Tony Kornheiser Show" on ESPN Radio.

Reid began his career at the Danville (Ill.) Commercial News where he planned and wrote a series on Proposition 48 which won several national awards. Reid is a former business editor of the Lansing (Mich.) State Journal, a state editor at the Arkansas (Little Rock) Gazette and served as senior editor of Emerge magazine after three years with USA TODAY Baseball Weekly.

Marci Rosenberg, a writer and producer, has been documenting the lives of Holocaust survivors since 1990. With a goal of chronicling every life, she is devoted to preserving these stories for the future generations. Though film director Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation, Rosenberg was part of an effort to interview 52,000 survivors. As president, of the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center, Rosenberg continues to keep the memories of the Holocaust alive by interviewing local survivors. Out of her deep love for children, Rosenberg produced the St. Louis Variety Club Telethon and created a video through the Asthma and Allergy Foundation to raise money for children whose families couldn't afford their medication.

She has created, written the libretto and penned the lyrics for "Flora's Fair," an original musical. Vignettes from the musical were staged at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park. Shuman has written feature articles and Op-Ed pieces and book reviews for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a column for the Ladue News.

As a community volunteer, Shuman has served as board president of the St. Louis Jewish Light, vice president of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis's Women's Division and Young Professionals Division, and as a board member for several organizations including St. Louis Hillel at Washington University, the American Jewish Committee, the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, Solomon Schechter Day School and Congregation Shaare Emeth.

And she maintains cultural and political sensitivity, enabling commitment from diverse population segments.  The Wente Group’s client base includes companies such as Centene Corporation, The Radio Arts Foundation, Maryville University, Saint Louis University, WNYC Public Radio, Craft Alliance, KUVO and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Misouri.

PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC AFFILIATIONS
Wente served on the Board of Directors of National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcast Managers Association, and was also a member of the Public Radio Leadership Forum. She is the past President of Public Radio in Mid America, and represented public radio in the Midwest at the national level on the NPR Board of Directors.  

She is a Board member of the St. Louis Press Club and is currently the Vice President of Membership.  She serves on the YWCA Circle of Women Committee as well as the Face the Nation Committee of the Press Club.  She has served on committees for the 2010-11 Jazz St. Louis Gala, 2010-12 Wellness Community Gala, and 2010-12 Shakespeare Festival Gala. Wente has been a committee member for the St. Louis Forum, United Way of Greater St. Louis and American Cancer Research.

She acted as the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Mid-America spokesperson in 2008. She has been involved in the Regional Commerce and Growth Association- St. Louis for over 20 years.

Wente has received two national awards including the Public Broadcast Management Association’s Award of Excellence and Public Radio Regional Organization’s “Potholder” Award.  The St. Louis Business Journal named Wente one of 2007’s “Most Influential” and one of  2004”s Most Influential Business Women.” She received a YWCA Special Leader Award in 2003.

She earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Communication from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
